Invertebrate Invitational: The Isopod

Aloha Worm Ohana!

The fourth installation in our Invertebrate Invitational is the Isopod!

Remember, we are featuring five invertebrates – professional decomposers all – that show up frequently in worm bins and compost piles. We have featured the Earwig, the Millipede, and the Surinam Roach in our previous videos. Now it’s the Isopod’s turn. While I can show up a few things online, NOTHING takes the place of exploring these critters on your own in person, so here’s the plan:

I’m assembling a BUG BOX for you to pick up at your school office with all five invertebrates, live and ready for you to handle and observe gently.  You will also get a set of cool flashcards with interesting information about each bug.

The Bug Box will be available only from January 27th through February 5th.

To order your Bug Box, e-mail <mindy@waikikiworm.net> and tell me:

• Your name and school
• What day/date you want to pick up your Bug Box

Your invertebrates will be waiting for you at your school office on your pick-up day!

Enjoy the videos, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Ms. Mindy
